Priest's introduction

Unite your suffering to Christ Crucified,
dear brothers and sisters,
and trust in the Lord,
so that we too might be raised up by his redeeming sacrifice.

Intentions

For the universal Church, that she might ever exalt in the name of her Lord, and run to greet him when he comes.

For this parish, that we might remain faithful to our religious obligations, and we, in charity, might be given the grace of courage and perseverance to lead our wayward brethren back to the Good Shepherd.

For all catechumens and converts preparing to be received into the bosom of Mother Church during the sacred Paschal Triduum, that the prayers of the zealous and the innocent made on our behalf might be heard by the Lord.

For the sick of mind and body, and for those who will be unable by reason of infirmity to walk alongside their brethren during this holy week, that we might remember them in our prayers, and they might remember us as they walk along their own path to Calvary.

For the dead, that the Lord might remember the holy souls in his descent amongst them, and so raise them up to the eternal bliss of the beatific vision.

Untie us from the bonds of sin,
we beseech you, almighty God,
that we, so unencumbered by slavery to evil,
might minister to you in your sanctuary,
and do your bidding amidst its worldliness.
